Technical details
How it works
Each Pedisteps insole (also built into Pedisteps shoes) uses an array of force-sensing resistors (FSRs) under the foot. 40 sensors per insole in adult sizes (30 in small kid sizes) sample pressure in real time at 10 frames per second. Each sensor reports a 0-255 value and is calibrated for up to about 4 kg of force. That pressure map supports understanding of loading, balance, and gait patterns over a walk or training session.
Connectivity
Bluetooth Low Energy to the Pedisteps app on iOS and Android (apps handle pairing). Typical indoor range about 10 m; open space about 20 m.
From foot to cloud
Sensors, then BLE, then Pedisteps phone app, then Google Cloud, then GaitIQ web dashboard at app.vrsteps.io, usually under 1 second latency. Real-time mode, session analysis (sessions up to about 10 minutes), AI insights, browse past sessions, weight-bearing alerts by percent of body weight. MCP connection in beta with a secure token for your own data.
Battery and charging
About 8-12 hours operation on a full charge. Full recharge about 3-4 hours. One USB cable with two magnetic connectors, one per insole.
